Samel Ortom, the Benue State Gov. |
The Governor of troubled Benu
State, Samel Ortom has declared that the anti-grazing law in the state remained
in force.
He stated this Sunday at
the maiden special thanksgiving service organized for him by the Redeemed
Christian Church of God, Benue Province 3 in the Makurdi, the State capital.
“Open grazing could not
coexist with crop farming in the state, because they conflict with each other
and that would negatively affect the economy of the state, which largely
dependent on agriculture.”
The Governor used the
occasion to charge Christians across the country be more involved in politics.
According to him, it was the only way they could hope to have a say in the
affairs of the country.
“Christians all over Nigeria
must develop interest and participate actively in politics to have a say in
what happens around them. Without being actively involved and having a
Permanent Voters Card, PVC, there would be no need to talk about bad or good
governance, ” he said.
