Rotimi Amaechi, Transport Minister. |
As the controversy
surrounding the release of the list of treasury looters gains momentum, spokesperson
to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, has claimed that APC as
well habours a colony of treasury looters.
In a statement he released
Monday, titled “The Real Looters List That Buhari and Lai Mohammed Do Not Want
You To Know About,” Omokri pointed accusing fingers at no fewer than 10 APC
stalwarts, whom he claimed collectively looted over $2 billion.
“I took the pains to
produce a ‘teaser’ looters list of 10 APC members who collectively looted over
$2 billion,” he stated.
On his list, he named Rotimi
Amaechi, Saminu Turaki, Murtala Nyako, Timipre Sylva, Senator Abdullahi Adamu,
Kayode Fayemi, Babachir Lawal, Senator Danjuma Goje as top APC treasury
looters, and challenged President Buhari and Lai Mohammed to provide explanations
as to why these men’s names were conspicuously missing from the list released
by Alhaji Lai Mohommed, the Information Minister, late last week.
It will be recalled that
PDP had challenged the ruling All Progressives Congress to produce a list of
its (PDP) members whom they have continued to allege looted the treasury while
the party was in government during Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
